If you are aware of the online marketing field, then you must know that content is king for any online marketing campaign. Be it affiliate marketing, be it social media marketing or anything else.
Good content is always the showstopper that attracts the readers.
So, if Content is the King, then you must be the creator of the King to draw more readers and convert them into your loyal customers.
Let me give you one example from our daily life.
Suppose you are watching a movie on television. You see an ad that has a very bad script, bad sound, and bad promotions.
Would you ever like to buy that product?
Rather, I will say, I surf other channels if I see that same irritating ad next time while watching television.
Same is the importance of any content for your affiliate marketing campaign.
If your content is poorly written if you even don’t know what you mean to say if you can’t express your views and ideas clearly and end up writing something unworthy, then how would you expect a reader to trust you and buy the product from your site?
Am I making sense?
Not only a good grammar and expression are important, if you copy and paste from other sites, then Google will straightforward block your site, and you will end up before starting anything.
So, make sure to make a killer content copy before you start promoting your product.
Here are the few tried and tested tips that I follow for writing any sales content for my affiliate sites.
Have a look-
#1- BE HONEST WITH WHAT YOU WRITE
Honesty is the best policy if you want to sustain in this competitive market for a long time. Never write anything false that a particular product does not offer. If you can play with language, then you may be able to convince the readers about the lies, but with time you will lose credibility, and your readers will not trust you.
Needless to say, you will never be able to build your customer as you will never be able to make a solid customer base.
Always try to promote a product that you have tried personally. But somehow, even you have not tried it, then ask your friends who have tried it. Ask them to provide an honest review on what they feel.
#2- READER-CENTRIC CONTENT IS A MUST
Keep yourself in the shoes of the readers.
Think what they want.
Would you buy anything that is too costly?
Would you buy anything that is not offered by any reputed brand?
Would you buy anything that does not have many positive reviews?
How is the after sales support?
You can place yourself as the readers and check out yourself what are the points you would like to know from the content before purchasing a product.
If you are satisfied from your heart, then you can be sure that chances of getting sales are there. But don’t try to fool yourself. If you are not happy with what you are writing, then how could you make others happy? That too to a person who doesn’t know you, you can't communicate with him/her and when the content is the only way to convince?
#3- INCORPORATE YOUR LINKS NATURALLY
Writing content is not an easy task. You need to be a master in it to attract readers. If you think that you will write an honest review and add the affiliate links here and there at random, then you are mistaken.
Always incorporate the links naturally. Make sure that the article makes an everlasting and soothing effect to the readers.
Forcefully inserting the affiliate links can create a bad user experience while reading the content, and the readers may leave your site without even reading till the end or making any decision.
#4- HAVE SOME VARIETY IN YOUR SITE
Won't you be bored eating the same food for days or wearing the same dress for long?
Similarly, reading a same pattern of content brings monotony in the reader's mind. They may like most of the articles, but if there is no variation, and the writing style and format is same for all reviews, then that site won't be that attracting.
So, What I do, is ask my trustworthy friends for Guest Posting on my site who are into affiliate marketing. This variation means a lot as fodder for your brain that ultimately convinces your reader to convert and you get a sale.
#5- DON’T IGNORE PEOPLE OR SEARCH ENGINE, BOTH ARE IMPORTANT
While you are writing, make sure that you write for both people and search engines. Many marketers say that search engines are becoming smarter day by day and they can identify the contents that are written for them.
But what I feel is, you need to focus on both search engines and human readers while writing any content. You need to use keywords to get a good volume of organic search.
But keep it in mind, use the keywords naturally. Don’t let the search engines or the readers feel that you have used them forcefully.
#6- PROVIDE USEFUL INFORMATION
Try to give a detailed idea about the product you are selling, its features, benefits, pros, and cons. The information should be helpful enough that will help the readers to decide to buy the product.
#7- USE INFOGRAPHICS
I have seen it myself, that when I see any article having infographics, I get more interest in reading that piece of article. So, I always try to add infographics, visual buttons, so that readers can get all the info at a glance.
Believe me; this is one of the best ways to keep your reader's attention and compel him/her to read the entire content.
#8- BE CREATIVE ENOUGH
If you are writing the same thing again and again throughout your article, and following the same format and pattern what other marketers are following, then how could you expect to retain a visitor and make a sell?
Be creative in every sentence and word while writing the content.
The content should not be boring and monotonous. It should be interactive, conversation as if you are telling about the product to your online friend. The more creative you are in explaining, the more attention the content will get from the readers. They will read more. And once they are impressed, you rock. A sale is there in your account.
Creativity is the key to success for any affiliate marketing content. I know many friends of mine who
Are doing good promotion of their website, but due to lack of good content, they are lagging behind in this competitive market.
It's not necessary that you need to be a master in writing. You don’t need to use flowery languages and words. But you need to write in a clean and easy to digest English. You can even hire an expert writer to write content for your site. But don’t take any risk with the content part.
Or else you will end up losing all your money and time spent on the affiliate marketing campaign.
